Our idea is an app that is based on FreeFileSync (open source) - you can check the code here - How it works: BACKUP SECTION: - in the app you can select which folders should be protected - in the app you can select a destination pendrive (identification by the label) - the app runs in background and is monitoring if the pendrive is plugged - if the pendrive is plugged files from selected folders are synced to the pendrive - when the sync is completed you get an information that you can unplug the pendrive RESTORE PART: - when the selected pendrive is plugged you can select "restore" and all files stored on the pendrive will be synced back to system disk You can use the language of your choice. We need to make TWO small changes to this open source app written in C++: All that needs to be changed is its title bar - there has to be our name and logo put in it. We need to get ready compiled windows app. IMPORTANT - changes in code are very easy, but it has been reported, that compilation is harder (I am not sure what it means, but - "there are no building instructions")

This is what is needed: - Create package to be used by synology package manager to run on latest DM (see wiki for more info: ) - Package includes: + latest installation of freefilesync + freefilesync should have access to ALL local directories on NAS, so it can sync to external windows file server.
