Fault diagnosis using Fuzzy logic for DC power system Abstract This paper focuses on Fuzzy Logic as one of the modelling tools that are used to build faulty diagnosis models whose purpose is to enable accurate diagnosing of faults when uncertain and incomplete alarm information is detected from the circuit breakers and the protective relays. To diagnose a fault, it must be detected first therefore, faulty detection depends on non-linear fuzzy modelling while diagnosing depend on the transparency of the reasoning system from experimental and simulation data. This paper indicates, in several cases, that faulted system elements can be diagnosed correctly using Fuzzy models to give satisfying results even when there is great variance of uncertain and incomplete alarm information. It focuses on fuzzy logic due to the advantage that it enables incorporation of a prior knowledge allowing the user to understand the inference of the system.
