Problem solver with excellent communication skills
I am an open-minded design engineer with experience from consultation to after-sales support, and everything in between. This breadth of experience has given me the ability to look at projects from a high level and understand where the challenges are hiding, and where efforts should be focused to maximize efficiency.
Concept design engineering is a challenging field for engineers in general, because it requires the assumption that your initials designs are not perfect. It might take 3 or 4 iterations starting from scratch to flesh out concepts; many presentations and open conversation with constructive criticism; and a level of humility that is not common for the profession. I have learned that the best way to get the right solution the fastest is to invite as much criticism as you can as early as possible into a project, so you don't get too far down the wrong path.
I have worked with many machinists, sheet metal shops, and other suppliers throughout my career – and have developed a strong respect for practical design. Much of my career has been spent building custom designs, and following through with assembly and testing — but also improving for manufacturability and supply chain availability. I will use this experience to streamline your design concepts and get to successful testing and production as quickly (and low-risk) as possible.
