Long-Term Scriptwriter/Screenwriter/Creative Writer for YouTube Channel WANTED

We’re looking for a long-term scriptwriter to write scripts on topics related to film/movies/TV series for YouTube videos.

ROLE

Scriptwriting:

We’d like at least 2 - 3 scripts written per week. Each script must be at least 1,600 words long.

NOTE: If you submit a script of less than 1,600 words, then you will be asked to revisit and add to the script without sacrificing quality.

The tone of these scripts must be casual and friendly, but most of all, human, with a glowing personality.

Each week, we shall provide a short list of topic titles. As the scriptwriter, you’ll be digging deep into research using these titles as starting points and delivering each script with content focused around each respective title.

We’d like each script written in the style of a countdown (with a short introduction), either explicitly e.g. Top 10s, “Emma Mackey’s 5 Most Embarrassing Moments on the Set of Sex Education”. . . etc. or implicitly e.g. “Sex Education Season 2 and All the Latest Gossip” . . . (ie. there may be 10 things to talk about but not necessarily in any particular order) etc.

All scripts will be recited by our voice-over artist, so it is vitally important that the script is easy to read, easy to comprehend, and sounds natural.

NOTE: If you submit a script with spelling and/or grammatical errors, then you will be asked to revisit and correct the script.

At the end of each script, you must insert a bibliography that lists all the resources you used to gather your information. We ask to include this so that we can confirm the information presented is from reputable and trustworthy sources.

Description-writing:

Once a script is finished, we’d like you to type out a keyword-optimised video description at least 200 words long, which should be easy considering you would’ve just finished a script for the very same topic. We shall provide the relevant keywords in advance.

NOTE: If you submit a video description less than 200 words long, then you will be asked to revisit and add to the video description without sacrificing quality.

Each description should describe what the respective video will go into detail about - dropping hints and clues about the main points, instilling curiosity, but not quite giving anything crucial away.

CANDIDATE

We’re looking for a scriptwriter that is:

• An effective communicator with excellent written English

• Super original, creative and has a tendency to be humorous in their work

• Tenacious with a strong focus and attention to detail

• Driven to set their work apart from the rest by always delivering high-calibre content

• Excited about going deep into research and digging out surprising, conversation-starter type facts, figures and gossip

• Reliable and capable of relatively quick turnaround times (without sacrificing quality)

HOW TO APPLY

Please submit a portfolio of scripts you’ve written and a brief explanation as to the context of each script.

PAY

Pay rate will be $17 per script AND description + BONUS INCENTIVES; so that’s $34 - $51 per week as a base rate pay.

Here is our Bonus Incentive Structure [based on the number of VIEWS a video achieves]:

100K: +$10

250K: +$25

500K: +$50

1M+: +$100

These bonuses are NOT cumulative, and the bonus per video is capped at $100. Bonus payments will be assessed and paid out every quarter from the end of the NEXT quarter after the quarter the video was posted in.

For example, if you write a script for a video that was posted in Q1 and it achieves 1M+ views, you will be paid $17 basic pay upfront, and a $100 bonus at the end of Q2 (when it is assessed) for just that one video. You still have the potential to earn up to $100 in a bonus payment for every other video you contribute to in Q1, which will be paid out to you in a lump sum at the end of Q2.
