AWS Magento setup

Hi,
We need to setup a highly scalable AWS Magento setup with that utilizes that latest architecture.
We have had many different variations with Nginx front end and apache back end, with varnish and so on but we now need a high performing, speed optimizing aws server. Possibly something like below as it has been suggested to us but would prefer your ideas and expertise.
Nginx with PageSpeed module;
PHP-FPM;
Varnish with Turpentine plug-in;
Redis with Cm_RedisSession plug-in;
MySQL MariaDB.
