Woocommerce Product_category split into sections on a page

Currently I have a standard product page (WooCommerce) which shows 4 columns spread right across the page. To achieve this I use
[product_category category="things" per_page="80" columns="4" orderby="date" order="desc"]
Essentially I want to set two featured images halfway across the page on alternating sides. If anyone has any good ideas on how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated. A sketch is shown below:
