MATLAB Cluster configuration & MATLAB/SQL Configuration

I require two things to be done:
1. I require that my MATLAB be configured for use with my database on my PC. I have been unsuccessful in retrieving data on my database for use within MATLAB. I have the required add-ins.
2. I have 5 machines that I would like to work as a cluster for use on MATLAB. I have also been unsuccessful in doing this. I have the required add-ins.
Also, please note I am using Windows 8 on MATLAB 2013a. Ideally you would have been successful in doing both (or one) of these things in the past.
