CPU usage spiking on Litespeed AWS EC2 instance

CPU started spiking for no apparent reason an hour ago - I restarted the litespeed server and rebooted the EC2 instance, but CPU utilisation remains high.
This is unusual compared to historical CPU usage which is basically zero.
No changes made to website or server in the last 24 hours.
lsphp seems to be the culprit, but I don't know what's causing the spike in usage
