Magento Server Issue - Hanging on writing to logs extreme slow issue

We are having a issue with our magento platform that is causing significant delays on the website. We have a VPS running linux centos. We were trying to get our host at hostgator to investigate the issue and they were not able to come up with a cause for the issue. They told me that there was extreme delays in writing to the database for url_log. We cleared the database and repaired/optimized those tables with no success. The site takes over 10 seconds to respond to someone surfing it and that cant happen. I need someone who is quick and effiecient with this and can get this fixed in a extreme short period of time. I cannot have this go on for days. If you bid on this project you must be able to start work immediately.
