I have a project I need done in wordpress with woocommerce. This website will have a custom design which I will provide all of the psd's for.
This is one of potentially many, many projects that I may have you do, depending upon how this project works out.
Due to the number of nightmares I've had with various programmers and with wordpress, I am going to write my expectations here.
WORDPRESS SPECIFICATIONS
- Wordpress must absolutely be secure and hacker-proof. Tell me how you will ensure this. I need for a wordpress security expert on this project.
- Wordpress must absolutely be able to be updated without causing any issues down the line. I do not want a programmer to change any core code, only to find out 2 months later that the site is broken because the programmer made a poor programming decision in changing something he shouldn't have. In other words, the site should have absolutely no problems with future wordpress updates.
- The website must be fully responsive and perform flawlessly across the major browsers.
WEBSITE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS
Code new website layout using WordPress.
Integrate WooCommerce.
WooCommerce must allow for the manual adjustment of inventory quantities.
WooCommerce database setup needs to stay the same so the existing inventory control software can continue to automatically adjust inventory for the warehouse. (Existing data should be imported into the site. It is coming from wordpress/woocommerce.)
Integrate PayPal and Stripe payment gateways.
Integrate Google Analytics.
Provide the ability for products to be designated as Free Shipping,or charge a specific rate based on the item.
Allow selection of items to include shipping charge in the admin section.
Discount code system to be added in where admin can add in as many discount codes as needed.
Accept newsletter signups. Signup information to go to admin's email address. (Integrate into Robly if possible).
When an item is out of stock, allow the customer to input their email address for notification when the item becomes available for purchase. This email will be sent to a separate email address from the newsletter email.
PROGRAMMER EXPECTATIONS
Almost as important as the above to me is how competent the programmer is.
- I need a programmer who does not take chance or risks data loss.
- The programmer must take all necessary precautions to make sure no test data is sent to the client, and no test data is left on the website.
- The programmer must not be careless in leaving behind mistakes in the code. Everything must be checked and rechecked to assure the client will see flawless work.
- The programmer must be responsive to me and available. I do not want to go forward with a programmer on any project where they only work or are available when I am asleep and vice-versa.
- Finally, I need for the programmer to be competent in solving problems without having to ask me a ton of questions. While I am here for you if you have questions or need something, I am very busy, so questions testing, etc. should be performed by you and you alone.
Please note that with this and with any project you work for me on, you agree that you will not show any of your work on yours or anyone else's portfolio, and you will never directly have contact with any client.
