Lencia fruit juices sells beverages to grocery stores.
We regularly run promotional programs for our items with these grocery stores. The promotions are presented as a $ discount to the store, and an associated recommended discount to the customer, along with start/ end dates, contact information, item attributes, comparisons of gross profit per item for the store etc.
Whilst the promotions, and information each grocery store requires are the same, each grocery store insists upon the promotion being submitted to them in their own customised excel format.
The project: develop in excel a reliable, accurate and efficient program to enter the promotional information once, and then generate each grocery stores format from this one source
1) Develop a master template/s to record all the details of promotions for all items for different time periods
2) Identifying which promotions should be submitted to each grocery [url removed, login to view]:
a) upload sales history by grocery store to identify which items the stores parent company and/ or related company has already, or can, purchase; map that to the items on promotion for the selected period and create a store specific promotional template for those items only
b) identify items the parent company/ related store is NOT yet purchased and opt to include these item/s in the promotional template (eg: where a new item is being launched)
c) Override: remove items manually from the results of a & b for a specific store or group of stores
3) Create each stores promotional template in their format
4) Create excel files of promotions for each store for emailing to the store; and/ or automate the email creation & excel attachment process
Constraints
a) the stores promotional templates: minor differences to formatting/ structure of each stores template is allowable, however as much as possible we must conform to the stores format otherwise they will reject our promotion submission
b) Data: there are various constraints around data formatting, date formatting, date time duration, date format etc in the attached file
c) Data source: store sales history, item details, promotional details master data is held within netsuite and can be easily extracted to csv/ excel for use
