Hey i have an application in windows that does the following in general.
It detects if a program uses port to communicate. Then it kills the program. Works like a sniffer.
It works perfectly in windows but this is what i need.
Port it to a Linux application. Making it work the same way in Linux.
I hear that the problem may be authentication when it comes to allowing application to be killed.
At least that is the problem in MAC OS x and i hear that Ubuntu 12.04 have the same issues.
Please feel free to take a closer talk on Skype to ask further questions.
