Jamaican Taxes

Hello,

I want to get an project written up that explains how the following conditions that trigger tax residency are punitive and discourage successful people who live abroad from buying real estate and visiting Jamaica because of the tax consequences. I would like a page or two to be written up with the purpose of explaining to readers that how if Jamaican were to repeal these requirements for tax residency and how they will likely collect more tax revenue as more people vist and invest in Jamaica if these residency triggers are removed. I would like a quote for the project if possible.

Tax Residency Trigger.

They (or their spouses) have a place of abode available for their use in Jamaica, and they visit the island at any time during the tax year, no matter how short the stay.

They habitually visit Jamaica for substantial periods. The Commissioner General, Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) generally regards periods totalling three months as substantial and visits occurring in four consecutive years as habitual.
