FIRST, choose an option to write about, write a planning paper with the template below and then a 1000-1200 word essay in MLA or APA format persuading the reader to agree with your opinion. Must have in text citations and references.

Option 1 . After reading Alex Boyd’s “In Defense of Graffiti,” ([url removed, login to view]) write a persuasive essay in which you argue whether graffiti is a crime OR a work of art. For this essay, you might consider using a personal interview (primary source) to support your case. That is, you could interview a business owner, police officer, and/or graffiti artist about their opinions of graffiti. Remember, you still need THREE-FOUR secondary sources as well. Because people tend to have strong and highly emotional/subjective opinions about graffiti, or have had personal experiences with the effects of graffiti, remember to maintain a persuasive yet objective tone throughout the essay.

Option 2 Do you agree that public surveillance is dangerous? That it threatens personal freedoms? Or do you think that public surveillance is beneficial? Alternatively, you might want to consider whether only certain types of information, such as our genetic code, should be protected. For this topic, you might consider researching ideas from the scientific and medical fields, ethics, as well as popular beliefs as covered by newspaper and/or magazine articles.

Option 3. Write a persuasive causal analysis essay in which you explain the causes and effects of cyberbullying and what can be done to curtail this phenomenon.
