Hello! I am starting a small company and would like a smart, creative designer to help me with a logo package! I have seen so many wonderful designs on Freelancer, so I know that there is talent in abundance.

Name of Company: Kraken Arms
Industry: Firearms

Ideas: I need a company logo that is easily recognizable. Imagine that if I only had a business card with the mark and not the company name, that someone would know, “Oh, that’s Kraken…”

I would like ONLY ORIGINAL ARTWORK, please. I know this may disqualify some designers who are very good at implementing several designs, but I am looking for originality. If you are able and willing, please submit three things:

1. Company name in unique font. I chose the Kraken for various reasons: I like the Navy. I also liked Clash of the Titans (the old movie). The font does NOT need to be original and does not need to include anything about the Navy or the movie; however it should match the style of your logo and graphic.

2. Company logo. A kraken, in the simplest terms is a giant octopus- a monster. Did you see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest? There was a huge octopus in that: a kraken. I would like something simple, but evoking a strong character. The logo does not need to be scary, but it should imply seriousness. Lastly, the image should be something to place as an engraving on metal (see attached pictures).

3. A company mascot. Here is where your inner artist can shine. Take the logo and give it some style and throw in all the details that you can. I’m not looking for cartoons, but also not looking for something outlandish. Don’t try and make a kraken with it’s tentacles around a boat- too much detail! Save time and just focus on the kraken. I would like fierce, but not scary. The mouth doesn’t have to be open and snarling- just the eyes. Tentacles (arms) can just be floating in air- I’m really just focused on a getting a nice, detailed image that people understand is the mascot image of the logo.

I can’t put the mascot (#3) into metal (a barrel, lower receiver) because it will have too many details. But I can put the mascot and or logo on the website or business cards.

One of the contestants gave an opinion about size and detail. I totally understand. The logo or "trademark" is meant for a gun- a lower receiver like in my examples. That one is meant to be simple. The Font+logo is meant for the website. The detailed mascot is meant for anything else: business cards, flyers, panels at conventions, etc.

Hi everyone. I wanted to explain my third goal, the mascot. I need the font and a character to place on the guns; however, I also need a mascot for the website or even business cards. I wanted it to be highly detailed.   sir just an opinion about the mascot, simple is kinda better since you guys are a arms dealer too detailed is kinda trying hard you want your brand to be taken seriously to the point too detailed as well for laser engraving will have faults since engraving on guns are more less as big as 32x32 to 124x64 and it will just be a mess unless you are a shirt company you really need detailed like what you are asking, this is just an opinion since i do laser engraving as well

  1. Logo - Just a simple rendering of a kraken which can be placed (etched/laser/imprinted) onto metal. 2. Font with the name "Kraken Arms." 3. Detailed mascot (drawing/rendering) - One more drawing, but this time take the logo (from above) and draw it more detailed. I call this the mascot.
