I'd like to engage creative graphical artists in developing a logo capturing the essence of what it means to be a truly connected community, as described at http://connectedcommunity.net/.

The new logo would be displayed on the upper-right corner of that page, across from the StratML logo already shown on the left side.

To the degree that others may choose to use the StratML standard to engage their stakeholders in Truly Connected Communities, they may also wish to post the logo on their sites. Eventually, a process might be initiated to promote and certify such usage.

My thought is that the words "Truly Connected Community" should appear on the new logo.

I'd also like to have a version of the logo with only the words "Truly Connected" -- for use by individuals and organizations using the StratML standard to engage in and support Truly Connected Communities.

Ideally, the concept will gain sufficient market attraction that social entrepreneurs and software vendors will realize value in developing the necessary tools, applications, and services and, thus, want to post the logo on their own websites.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm close to selecting #211 as the winner but have asked her to show me a version with the outer circle of text pulled in a bit tighter to the figures so there's less white space. The fact that she has not yet done so is why this contest is still open. Of your two proposals, I like the darker one on the left better. If you make the globe in the center smaller so that it looks more like #211, you might be in the running. I want the focus to be on the people rather than the world. I also want to convey the thought that our world is shrinking because we now can and should be working directly with anyone, anywhere in the world who shares our objectives.
