I am a foreign language professional, with advanced proficiency (JLPT N2 certified, pursuing N1) in the Japanese language, and work as a Japanese translator, interpreter and teacher (levels N5-N3). I also have 5 years of prior experience in English documentation and technical writing. I am also certified in two levels of Spanish (Basico and Intermedio) and am currently pursuing higher levels. I hold a Masters Degree in English Literature, and have native-level proficiency in the English language. English is considered to be the official language in India, and all official communication is carried out using it. Primarily, I am looking for challenging translation tasks in my free time. Target languages -> E->J / J->E. As my Spanish skills progress, I look forward to taking up assignments involving that language, as well. I would also be interested in interpreting and teaching assignments.

The JLPT - Japanese Language Proficiency Test is the official Japanese language proficiency exam for foreign nationals, and is administered by the Japanese governmental organization, The Japan Foundation. Of the 5 levels that exist in this test, I have passed four levels. N5, N4, N3 and N2. N2 is the second highest level, and is usually the level required by professional organizations for employment as interpreters or translators. I am also currently pursuing the highest level of the JLPT, N1, which I intend to attempt in July 2014.
