Their main issue was that their website targets 3 languages, with a slightly different copy hook on each, so their marketing department needed complete control over each section on each language, so WordPress was used as a CMS, modified with custom posts types, as well as shotcodes so that it could be easily managed by anyone on their side. The website is completely responsive all the way down to a smartphone device.
