About Me
I have been working in web design and development for close to 15 years, first as a hobby while I was in school and then professionally while I was at university. After spending several years as a freelancer, I then spent several more working for a digital agency. Working in these two different environments has given me a very flexible approach and a deep understanding of the different needs of different types of clients. As well as front-end design and development, I am also accomplished at building sophisticated back-end systems - both designing and building the underlying database structures and writing the interfaces and programmatic logic to use them effectively. I build with users in mind and love getting feedback on how to make the interfaces I build more intuitive. From a technical standpoint, I specialise in the following areas: * Front-end coding: * Standards-based (X)HTML * Standards-based CSS * JavaScript, including libraries such as jQuery and Mootools * Back-end coding: * Database architecture (mySQL and SQL Server) * ColdFusion * PHP I also have very good written communication skills and can write good user documentation for the systems I build.
