I am an M. Tech. in VLSI design(passed with distinction) from C-DAC, Mohali with 2+yrs of Industry experience in Front-end development and verification of Semiconductor Memory IPs. Apart from this, I have a strong hold on synthesizable RTL design in VHDL and verilog, which is evident from the fact that I successfully designed, developed and implemented an "8051 RISC processor with 1KB internal memory" on an FPGA(Xylinx) with all the 8051 instructions supported along with the interrupt structure. Some of the projects executed by me in various domains are as follows: VLSI Design: ----------- Developed and verified a VHDL model for configurable memory with advanced features such as Light-sleep, Deep-sleep and Shut-down mode for power-managemant, Built-in self test(BIST) support, Self Test and Repair(STAR), etc. Successfully designed, implemented and verified an 8051 RISC Processor along with the interrupt structure on the SPARTAN 3 FPGA XC3S200FT256-4C device at 40 MHz clock frequency. Tested and Verified the implementation in real-time by interfacing it with a 24-keys keyboard, an LCD display with a 1KB monitor program written in 8051 Assembly language. Finally did the documentation for the same (Team size = one). Designed, implemented and tested a 16-bit Multiplier and Accumulator (MAC) Unit on FPGA. Designed and verified a CMOS 4-bit left-right Shift Register (with 108 transistors) in SPICE. Characterized a CMOS inverter for an optimal output rise-time and fall-time for different capacitative loads in SPICE. DSP Programming: --------------- Successfully coded and verified an 8-point FFT algorithm in assembly language for ADSP 2181 processor, the result was verified with the Matlab output. Embedded Design: --------------- Interfaced an ADC and an LCD with AVR 8515 microcontroller. Developed a calculator with AVR8515 micro-controller interfaced with keyboard and an LCD. Hardware design: --------------- Designed and implemented a 4-bit to 4-bit serial multiplier on a single 6” by 4” PCB. Designed and Implemented a Computer Based Liquid Level Controller using the parallel port of the computer. The level of the tank is graphically displayed on the computer screen and periodically updated. The programming is done in C language. Designed and Implemented an ON-OFF type Automatic Temperature Controller which is based upon the IC 741(op-amp) to control the temperature of an ambient with respect to a set point fixed by a potentiometer. It uses IC LM339 as the temperature sensor and a heater filament as the actuator. Software design: --------------- Developed some programs in C language(as a hobby) involving graphics, file i/o, parallel port interfacing, data recovery from corrupt floppies, file encryption/decryption etc.
