Effect of different parameters on properties of electrodeposited nanostructured Ni-MoS2 coatings

Nanostructured nickel coatings with molybdenum disulphide particles were electrodeposited to form composite coatings. Overall, it was shown that the lubricating effect of MoS2 in the coating was more influential than the nanocrystallinity of the nickel matrix in improving tribological properties of these composite coatings.

Effects of simulated electric field interference and presence of a barrier in electroplating process

Nickel coatings were electroplated galvanostatically under electric field interference condition and also under the presence of two different types and sizes of barriers in the electroplating bath. The electric field interference and the presence of a barrier during electroplating were simulated using COMSOL® software in order to investigate the effect of these phenomena on the coatings’ characteristics.
