A story I wrote for the New York Times sunday Magazine's "Lives" page about Michael Krikorian, Jr., my namesake. He was born to my girlfriend, Addie, who swore to me the boy was mine. But Addie was a crack addicted and Michael was not mine. Still,knowing he didn't have a father, I took care of him. This last until he was six or seven when I lost contact. 13 years go by and I get a phone call out of the blue from Addie. Michael junior is now at the Los Angeles County Jail awaiting trial for a gang related murder. I go to the jail to visit him. This is what the story is about
