The League of Legends community site is a place where Riot Games communicates with their player base. Building and maintaining this site has provided a series of interesting problems to solve including: - Website Scalability - How do we maintain an interactive user experience while being able to handle the millions of users that visit the site every day? - Automation - As the infrastructure grows and expands how to we push code and deploy to boxes without taking all of the developers time away from writing code? - Single Sign On - How do we ensure a good, consistent user experience when the user moves around between different web properties as this is only one of many sites we've built for the game? My team actively worked directly with many departments within the organization to solve these complex problems in a way that is technically sound while not sacrificing the experience of the user.
