Hello, I am a Programmer with more than ten years experience. I am looking for opportunities Central California to Central Washington. I develop applications, components and tools using a variety of languages and tools. I have recently finished working for a company located in San Francisco, CA. I expect to be in the Bay Area until late August, 2008, based on my current opportunity search. I am available for physical interviews in the Bay Area within a day. I can return to the Portland, OR area with two days notice. I am available any time for phone screens. The types of applications and components I develop, in general terms are: * Desktop - Programs and tools that have a user interface ranging from command line parameters to multi-dialog display with advanced features such as skinning, transparency and detachment. * Distributed - Programs or components that access business components stored on a different machine or in a different network. * Multi-Tier - Programs or components that run on a given machine that provides a unique business function to other programs and/or components. * Network - Programs that interact with an intranet, an extranet or the internet in some fashion. * Stand Alone - Programs or tools that provide business functionality for a single computer. * Web Based - Dynamic back-ends, functional modules, commerce sites, etc. I have acquired and use a wide variety of skills that allow me to support an organization at many levels. I have supported organizations by updating simple scripts to advising on tactical and strategic plans. My toolset incorporates a number of platforms, applications, technologies and the like. The variance in my toolset allows me to select the appropriate tool for the job. The exposure to the day to day use of various tools has given me the experience to eliminate unnecessary processes. I would like to perform programming tasks that focus on my primary languages, C++ and/or VB. While these categories are broad and have a variety of implementations, the types of projects that excite me include: * Artificial Intelligence - Systems that make decisions in a real or virtual environment to reach a specified objective. * AI Support Systems - Applications, components and frameworks that provide an AI System with the tools required to perform. * Robotic / Automation Control Systems - Low-level systems of a limited scope that provide initialization and operational functionality for hardware. * Human-machine Interface Systems - The various aspects of supporting communication between hardware and software systems and humans. * Real-time Simulation Systems - Simulations having a real-time response requirement. * Real-time or Non-real-time Data Analysis Systems - Frameworks that translate raw data into a useable format.
