I have 5 Years experience in Drupal and have been doing web development for around 8 years. I was mainly building with PHP and HTML css but now i am more focused on using Drupal to build wesites, web applications on purely because i like the strategy and community driving Drupal and i have had a lot of successful and happy clients to whom we delivered very challenging sites on Drupal. Easy maintenance and scalabily is also another key feature that comes with Drupal and i believe in long term planning rather than building on short term success.
