WEATHER SERIES - WIND (Multi-media Art installation)

Weather Series Wind is a multimedia installation winner of the CAMARADAS Modern and Contemporary Art prize at the Embassy of Mexico in London (May, 2013). The same installation was shown at PINTA Modern and Contemporary Latin American Art Fair(June, 2013), also in London. This piece includes paintings, sound, and wind powered by small cooling fans, which are controlled with a Pinguino microcontroller. All, except the paintings, is mounted on a structure that hangs over the observer. This work is a collaboration with English painter Andrew Foulds. In it we decided to extend the notion of viewing art, to be able to actually experience the concept that we try to convey. In this case, we are interested on ideas about the weather, in particular the wind, and the determination of cultures in which we are immerse, language, religious beliefs and more textures that create certain society of nation.
