Is democracy a cure for human rights violations? An analysis of macro variables.
This article analyzes (Negative Binomial Regression) the potential correlations between some macro variables, such as democracy level, economic status of countries and human rights violations, in the framework of both the right to life and the right not to be subjected to torture or inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, ratified respectively by the first and the second article of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).
The efficiency of police stations in the city of Ankara: An application of data envelopment analysis
This paper aims to investigate how efficiently the police stations in the city of Ankara work. It also seeks to determine how the efficiency of police organizations can be measured by using data envelopment analysis (DEA). The study uses DEA to measure the efficiency of police stations in the city of Ankara in Turkey. DEA measures the relative efficiency of decision-making units (DMUs) based on their inputs and outputs.
