My name is Ryan Lewis and I'm 18. I've been programming since I was 11. I started with Visual Basic 6 as my main language and switched over to Ruby when I was about 14-15. I programmed with PHP for about 3 and a half years until I switched to Rails and I've been working with Flash since I was about 13. I program almost every day so I'm constantly learning. If there's a problem and I don't know how to solve it, I'll be determined to figure out a way past it, even if it means breaking my own conventions to do it properly. I've been working with Ruby MVC frameworks for about 2 years now, mostly Rails, but including Sinatra, Ramaze, and Merb. So I have knowledge of linking database tables together, unit testing, and creating/deploying a functioning web application. I've also been web programming since I was about 12 so I have a great skill set when it comes to XHTML and CSS. I typically work with HAML and SASS (which transform into XHTML and CSS, respectfully), but I can also easily work with ERB or other templating systems. I'm fluent in JavaScript and have worked with many JS libraries such as jQuery and MooTools, jQuery being the library I most work with, but I like to create my own functions and methods when needed. I work in a Windows environment but I've worked in Linux environments in the past and have no problem installing Linux as a dual boot for my system. I'm currently working on a project during my downtime with a friend of mine utilizing XHTML/CSS, Actionscript 2, JavaScript, and Rails. Oh yeah, and I've also worked with XML, YAML/JSON (They're basically the same), GIT and SVN, VBscript, and LUA. I can provide examples of my work in these languages, if needed: XHTML/CSS Ruby JavaScript PHP
