Firstly, I would like to share a little about myself. I was born in Warrnambool, Australia and living by the ocean, I adopted the culture and aesthetics of my surroundings. My main passion is graphic arts, influenced by typography, print media, and logo design. I attended Deakin University where I was fortunate to refine my skills by undertaking studies in Graphic & Studio Arts. Upon graduating, like most Australian’s I was struck with the desire to see the world. Through my experiences abroad I have had exposure to both print and digital media. Initially working as a freelancer for promotion companies in Melbourne, I branched out to undertake the roles of the creative director for an English publication in Amsterdam. Through these roles I was fortunate to be able to refine my skills resulting in a more creative and strategic approach. Additionally, during this phase I was exposed to all levels of the design spectrum, that is, from the initial stages of conceptual thinking, through the progressive stages of design evolution, and finally the achievement of creating an effective and complete design solution. Adding to my experience, I have dealt with the emerging concept of utilizing ‘Augmented Reality’ to add impact to print media. This exposure has allowed me to understand alternatives that can be initiated to give design more depth and the creative edge.
