Writing is thrill and freelance writing is doubly so. It gives you an opportunity to come across new subjects and learn about them. Freelance writing is, indeed, a learning experience, and the shape your learning curve depends on the challenges you take. I believe, as a writer, I have a basic ability to read and gauge the scope of any given subject, and like any good writer, I have an intuitive understanding of things in general that helps me understand what is important and what is not for the reader. For the rest, I resort to research, which, at the end, deepen my understanding of the subject matter. Like you, I am also sick and tired of reading mediocre content and ill-researched articles written in a language filled with unnecessary words.
