Generalized 3-D Constellation Design for Spatial Modulation
Spatial modulation (SM) conveys information bits by utilizing both antenna index and complex symbols to form a 3-dimension (3-D) constellation. Similar to two dimensional modulation, the structure of 3-D constellation could greatly affect the transmission reliability. In this paper, a generalized 3-D constellation design is proposed to optimize the constellation diagram used for each antenna.
Adaptive Mapper Design for Spatial Modulation with Lightweight Feedback Overhead
The feasibility of BFM is proved over random fading channels, and the performance improvement brought by BFM in terms of BER enhancement and SNR gain as well as the computational complexity and feedback overhead are quantitatively analyzed. Both analysis and simulations show that the proposed adaptive mapper significantly improves the BER performance with lightweight feedback overhead.
Spatial Modulated Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer
This paper proposes a spatial modulated simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SM SWIPT) scheme to save multiple radio frequency (RF) chains at the transmitter. As SM is adopted, only one RF chain is equipped at the transmit side. To harvest energy and in the same time to transfer information, the received signal is split into two parts according to the defined power splitting factors.
Spatial Modulation via 3-D Mapping
This letter proposes a jointly mapped spatial modulation (JM-SM) scheme to break through the constraint on the number of transmit antennas in traditional SM systems. It is realized via jointly mapping the transmit information bits to 3-D constellation points. A 3-D constellation design scheme for a JM-SM is analyzed and established by minimizing the system average bit error probability (ABEP).
Link Adaptive Mapper Designs for Space Shift Keying Modulated MIMO Systems
This work focuses on the design and analysis on link adaptive bits-to-antenna-indices (BAI) mapping for closed loop space shift keying modulated multi-input multi-output (SSK MIMO) systems. With the aim of achieving lower bit error rate (BER), optimal mappers are designed under different transmission conditions. Assuming perfect channel state information (CSI) is available at transceivers, an original binary switch algorithm (OBSA) is proposed.
