Labels are the part of a Gmail to Zoho migration that decides whether you are happy at the end, and it is worth knowing how they travel. Gmail labels are not folders, one message can carry several, and most migration paths convert them to folders, which means a message with three labels either lands in three folders as copies or in one folder with the others lost. Zoho's own Google Workspace migration tool handles this better than IMAP does, so that is the route I would use, and I would show you how a multi-labelled message came across in the test batch before the full run. Order of work: Zoho Workplace organisation created with your domain verified, the user and storage plan set, migration run in full while Gmail is still receiving so nothing is missed, then a delta pass, then DNS cutover: MX to Zoho, SPF updated, DKIM keys published, DMARC in place. Doing the mail copy before the MX change is what makes the cutover downtime-free. Post-cutover: send and receive tests from outside domains, label spot-check on a list of messages you pick, and a short note on managing mail in Zoho.
