NOIR 'What would you do if you woke up one day and realized that your entire neighborhood was empty of people? For some people in japan, this is a reality.' This is my 2 sentence pitch as a cold open to the first episode of Nippon Noir. My strategy for the episodes will be to look for intimate accounts of the stories that will be covered on the channel and use them as an anchor to the episodes. Another strategy will be to find a silver lining of some sort, or whatever is as close as possible to a positive ending so that viewers will learn to; 1) Stay till the end, and 2) Come back for future episodes. I’ve spent years as a ghost writer for both fiction and non fiction projects, as a result I am well versed in Narrative Building, I have a high command of the Three-Act-Structure and I can weave real stories into engaging, interesting and educating scripts. These kinds of mysterious, documentary-style videos are some of my favorite kinds of videos to watch. I am a huge fan of similar channels, I know exactly what concept your channel is going for and I believe I can deliver it. My research process starts with google, then delves into linked sources in the results. The final script will have a narrative cold hook, possibly discussing either a small town with more akiya than people, or more likely a more narrative impact-driven look at Fukushima, which the audience will likely be more familiar with. I'll break down the reasons, the costs and the number of Westerners who have been sold a dream (or a lie, depending on the situation). I'll look at the economics and the history and link them to Japanese cultural nuance as well as grounding things with data, such as the number of homes, the number of sales, the real costs. The conclusion will be part warning, part economic discussion.
