A system tester is required to test an internal system that is currently in development. The testing required includes website frontend and backend (file system). You will be provided remote access (VPN) to the system to perform the testing and will need to supply your own hardware to test with.
Frontend testing needs to be performed on Google Chrome (Windows) and Safari (Mac). Some functions will require Safari testing on iPad. Page layout, page behaviour, rules, permissions, errors and data retrieval need to be tested. The backend testing comprises of ensuring the database is updated appropriately when data changes are made (for instance adding a record) and uploaded files are stored or archived correctly.
You will be provided with a design document on how the function should look and work. An overview discussion shall also be provided, for each function that you are assigned to test, to give you a jump start in understanding the function and its requirements.
You must be able to articulate bugs and issues in written English. You are required to create a test plan and time estimate upfront for review and approval. The test plan must be submitted to us regularly to ensure you are testing as required, in an acceptable timeframe.
You are required to submit issues you find in detail with steps to replicate (if possible) and will need to retest the issues once they are fixed. This will be either in the software on our Gitlab Issue Tracking system or via an Excel spreadsheet (we have not verified which method yet).
