11 About Us
The “Virtual Scrap Yard” Page, this page is the key component to the site and will require several calculating function.
The page will be laid out in the fashion of a real scrap yard, pull down windows will be used to make selections… each purchase selection will automatically be totaled and a total amount due will appear in the “Processing Center” portion of the layout. Several options will be given to either ACCEPT, to place additional Orders or to CANCLE.
Once the order is accepted the product will be transferred to the member’s warehouse, where it will be recorded. The member’s account will then be debited for the amount of the buy.
The members may go to their warehouse at any time to view their product and make decisions as what to sell or hold. To sell a product the member needs only to select a SELL ORDER and enter the amount of a specific product they wish to sell. If the sale is not authorized (due to insufficient quantities available or the metal has not been in storage for the required time) an ERROR message will give the explanation and present other options.
Automatic Calculations will show the member what their bottom line will be if they chose to ACCEPT the sell order. Sell Invoices will show the fees deducted from the total sale which include Preparation, Warehousing and Shipping. The product will then be sent to the MARKET Warehouse, awaiting approval to CONFIRM the sale.
Once the sale is confirmed the member’s account will be credited with the appropriate funds.
The Virtual Scrap Yard layout will include an animated truck showing the movement of metal within the facility.
