We are a leader in Australia's education and industry based information services.
We are looking for a webdesign partner for the preparation and launch of the companion website to our magazine, the Australasian Internet Retailer Magazine. (AIR Mag) (First issue being release July 2006).
AIR Mag is "The Industry Journal for Australasian Internet Retailers". The AIR Mag meets the industry information needs for Australian and New Zealand based online retailers (either pure play or clicks and mortar) and those who provide goods and services to them.
The magazine will be similar to the US based Internet Retailer Magazine ([url removed, login to view]) but will be focused on the needs of Australian and NZ based e-commerce retailers servicing the Australian, New Zealand and overseas consumer markets.
Initially the magazine will be published bi-monthly, but it is anticipated that this will increase to fortnightly within 12 months.
The magazine is distributed free to subscribers within Australia and New Zealand, and for a small cost (to cover postage) to those outside Australia.
The magazine requires a companion website and we are calling for expressions of interest from webdesigners to design and host the magazine's website.
The website will contain the following sections (which mirror the divisions of the AIR Mag):
· news stories
· industry articles
· industry jobs ads
· upcoming industry events
· reading room
· time out
· media desk
Readers must also be able to subscribe and unsubscribe to our regular e-newsletter and/or our magazine online.
The e-newsletter will go out weekly and will basically consist of the first para of the news story/article and a link back to the news story/article on the website.
Subscribers must also be able to logon and submit job ads, which once approved by our staff, will be posted on the website. Placing jobs ads will initially be free. Premium ads will be available on a paid for basis giving higher exposure etc.
Subscribers who are service providers must also be able to log on and place ads in the " marketplace". Placing ads in the marketplace will incur a small fee. Premium ads will also be available.
There will be various categories of advertising in Marketplace to reflect the marketplace ads in the magazine (e.g. webdesigners, SEO consultants, call centres, office supplies, payment processors etc). Again, advertisers must be able to place the ad online, which once approved by our staff, will be visible online.
Service providers to the industry will also be able to purchase advertising on the other pages of the website (banner ads, text ads etc).
Subscribers must also be able to participate in our online surveys. Aggregated overview results must be available for viewing by all visitors in real time. Detailed results must be able to be aggregated and will be made available for purchase to subscribers/interested parties (but not details of individual respondents).
Subscribers must also be able to enrol in (and pay for) our regular seminars and events in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland online.
The Reading room section will contain reviews of books of interest to Australasian E-tailers and an ability to purchase such books- this will be operated in conjunction with a major book retailer.
The "time out" section which will have information on out of hours activities such as holidays, real estate etc. Again, this will be operated in conjunction with a major provider of these services.
At the media desk, contributors must be able to submit press releases and other contributions.
Website must include a "tell a friend" option on the main page and a "send this article/news item to a friend" function on all news story/articles pages.
Website must include a search engine capable of fully searching text of all news stories/articles.
All payments must be able to be made in AU$ and NZ$, through Paypal to start, but with other payment options later.
The design quality of the website must be very high, as it will be on display to all Australasian e-retailers. The website must be fully search engine optimised.
The website and subscriber database must be fully maintainable through a web-based control panel. Our staff must be able to log on daily, post and update news stories articles etc and prepare, edit and send newsletters to subscribers and approve or disapprove job ads and marketplace ads.
Subscriber information must be fully downloadable in CSV or similar format for integration in to our magazine subscriber database.
Our staff must also be able to send an email from the back end, inviting someone to join/subscribe (will only be done after permission has been obtained - no spam).
Our staff must be able to post new surveys, compile the results from surveys and download the results in easily accessible form.
Subscribers must be able to purchase online the full results of our surveys.
The back end must be easy to use, and ideally provide easily accessible statistics on subscribers (who will be asked to answer a brief questionnaire when subscribing).
Articles, new stories, topics for surveys etc will be provided by our writers. We will be responsible for promoting the magazine and website, obtaining subscribers, and advertisers, printing distribution of magazine, organising functions and events, research etc. Our experience in the industry, our skilled staff writers and extensive network means we are ideally placed for this task.
