For the market research business we have developed an automatic quoting system.
Our clients find it very useful because, by entering the specifications, ie Methodology, sample size, respondent type, incidence, length of interview etc, it immediately calculates an itemised cost in 3 different currencies. It also shows, for specialists in Australia, the maximum feasible sample size for each specialty, based on the LOI and incidence.
The Minterautoquoting system was developed by us and clients have copies to use. We now want to have it operational on the web. This example shows how the client enters a y or n for the services required. Then from drop down menus or typing in a number, the client completes all specifications and an itemized quote is generated.

The backend is about 10 sheets where the calculation is enabled. This is confidential and will stay on the office server and will be changed internally if required. Nobody has access to our sheets or system. Up to 5 columns will be required so the client can do up to 5 options.
The system then works as follows:
a) The client logs on and we issue trusted clients with a PIN (to protect against competitor access).
b) They enter the specifications onto the website
c) Our server immediately calculates a price and the itemized quote is shown on the webpage. They can request multiple quotes.
d) When the client enters his/her Name and Organisation, a Print Function allows them to print the itemised quote with the client details, date and time.
That’s basically all we need are the functions on our current site. We don’t need a new web design. Ultimately it may become a phone app.
At this stage we are checking out a range of options of which this website functionality is one, so all we need is a ballpark cost with timing. If it is financially feasible, we’ll then move forward with more detailed costs.
