The AdFlik is a simple, inexpensive consumer electronics product that changes TV channels to other pre-selected stations whenever it detects an advertisement.
A list of alternative channels is selected and stored in the AdFlik, which surfs the channels in the order specified by the user. The AdFlik switches to the first channel currently showing non-advertising programming. The user has the option to specify a preferred channel that the AdFlik will return to whenever that channel is displaying non-advertising programming.
The AdFlik is currently under development by the Innovation Factory and will be available in prototype form by August. Additional funding is needed to complete the research and development and prepare the product for production.
The goal of this project is to maximize the fundraising potential for the development of the AdFlik product from crowdfunding sources such as KickStarter. This will entail creating a project on a selected crowdfunding web site (Kickstarter, Indiegogo) and managing all of the marketing in relation to that project, including:
(i) Producing compelling copy and graphical content for the project pages on the crowdfunding site
(ii) Editing/Integrating graphics and video content provided by the design team
(iii) Creating scripts and additional video content, as required
(iv) Designing the detailed structure of “price points” for pledges and rewards
(v) Creating an FAQ section for the project
(vi) Creating content on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social media sites and integrating into project content on the crowdfunding site
(vii) Creating a blog for the project and integrating into the project content
(viii) Producing compelling PR content for Engadget, Wired, The Verge, and other relevant print and electronic publications and blogs
(ix) Responding to customer questions about the product and the project, via email and Twitter
(x) Providing regular project updates on the project pages and on social media pages
(xi) Designing a web site for the AdFlik product
(xii) Promoting the Innovation Factory brand
