The job is an HTML email newsletter (to be sent from iContact Mail Manager).
The designer built a webpage at 892px wide which I then turned into a webpage (using mostly image slices even for text to keep it in keeping with the original design). The client loved this and signed off on it. After testing it in various email browsers, I discovered via some serious forum trawling that HTML newsletters can not be built this way. I learnt they should be 600px wide (although in my subsequent attempt I used 650px as I read somewhere that I could get away with this). They also need to be table-based in design (I have had no experience at this being a fairly new designer and learning only css) and can't be made up of just images (ie. they need some text so that some email browsers don't block them).
I then went about downloading a template from MailChimp (Mail Manager) and tweaking it's tables in an attempt to make our original design fit according to the new requirements. This is included in the attachments and has quite messy coding as it was still an ongoing project (and learning curve). For instance, the text in the right-hand column needed to remain the same size but in a narrower column so the height of the table needed to be longer and I had to add an extra image in the images column at the top. The client took a look at this and was not happy at all. They signed off on the original 892px webpage and not my new version of it.
I would like to hand the job over to someone that has more than a couple of days experience with creating in tables and that create a new cross-email-browser compatible HTML newsletter that looks like the original webpage - this is of vital importance as the client did not like mine as it didn't look enough like the original. This needs to be completed by this Sunday night (as it needs to be emailed by the client at [url removed, login to view] Monday morning). The new orange strip also needs to be added to the bottom of the page.
Here is the link to the original (892px wide) web page: [url removed, login to view]
Here is my attempt at the (650px wide) table-based html newsletter: [url removed, login to view]
As said, I need the job to be completed by this Sunday night 3rd April (Australian time) as it needs to be emailed out on behalf of the client Monday morning at 8.30am.
