We have some simple web design work to be completed within three days.
We are a university research lab working on a project for a newspaper. Our technology adds links within stories, and now we want to demo it to our client. We want our demo pages to match the look of the newspaper's website, so that our clients need as little imagination as possible to see how this will work.
An example page is here: [url removed, login to view] . We want to match the look of these pages, specifically the column format, but we don't actually have content to fill the left and right panes. We'll just be subbing in the article. So the stuff on the sides can be static, or filler, so long as it doesn't look too ugly or distracting.
The project must be done using css and the django template language. Rather than give you access to our backend, you'll be given a dummy django project to work with with some stories in json. Your template will be given a story object with the following attributes:
[url removed, login to view]: The article title
[url removed, login to view]: The article byline
[url removed, login to view]: The section of the newspaper the story comes from
[url removed, login to view]: The publication timestamp
[url removed, login to view]: Content paragraphs
I consider this a simple project that won't be very taxing, and doesn't require much design flare. But we do have more involved and open-ended design work coming up, so we'd like to build a relationship with a talented designer who can work for competitive rates. So please include a portfolio in your bid if you have one.
