I am starting a film series of direct-to-DVD animated feature films. They star the character of Mr. Wogglebug.
The series involves Mr. Wogglebug having adventures with a young girl named Sylvie through a land called Genoma as they are on intertwining journeys and go through challenges and life lessons that ultimately enable them to reach their highest potential and live their dreams by the end.
I'm looking for very specifics for the voice of this main character of the series. Most importantly he sounds like an insect because that is what he is. I imagine his voice to sound rather chirpy like a cricket or a cicada. His voice shouldn't sound too high but not low at all either. He also sounds young, charming, happy, friendly, kind, and gentlemanly, and refined and intelligent. He also has a bit of a muddled accent of educated and refined because he is a thoroughly educated gentleman and also a bit eccentric as such but overall lovable. And he loves to laugh at his every whim as he speaks as the scripts will detail. His voice is cartoony in that he sounds like a human-insect hybrid (because he is) but still articulate and lovable and refined and like the sort of gentleman who you would find to start a conversation within any place you could find one who would start with the line below.
I am looking for a voice actor who can commit to a long-time project, is not very costly (I'm living off a fixed budget), is very experienced in doing character voices, has excellent singing abilities as the Wogglebug has songs in most of the movies.
I am looking for a voice actor of any experience level and who is willing to negotiate with me on payment terms and conditions and who loves children and is very versatile with his talents in character voicing. And, if need be, can be trained to voice the character in a particular way. And a voice actor who is willing to sign a contract for an ongoing project that involves a series of direct-to-DVD movies and a web series and also audiobooks to accompany picture books.
Essentially the voice must be a perfect match for this image as shown because this is exactly what the character will look like in both the movies and the picture book versions of them.
The actors to apply for the role must audition with this line:
"Good morning. My name is Mr. H.M. Wogglebug T.E. and that means I am highly magnified and thoroughly educated. And I am if I do say so myself! (laughs)."
I imagine his laugh to sound like "tee-hee-hee." I hope to have a voice actor who can mimic and match the voice in the file attached below which was from his former voice actor who used to voice him.
