Just starting a business providing Virtual assistants to real estate agents. As we're in the start-up phase, we just want to get this moving; meaning, I'm going to offer your service at a much lower price than usually. As you're from the phillipines, though, I'm sure $5/hour is pretty ok, though? :). If lower is still really good money, it would appreciate if you could go lower. BUT -- if that would make you not feel motivated to do an awesome job, let's go with $5/hour.
At a later point, when we've gotten a hang on this, you'll be paid way better; and you'll be paid at a rate that will let you go travel and provide for your family and all of that. If you're pretty poor right now, It's going to change your life -- I really think it is. But... to get there you're going to have to invest time and energy into this. Mostly, because I'm aiming at changing the life of the real estate agents; and, for that service charge a LOT of money.
What I need from you is... passion about being a VA; honestly, you need to LOVE assisting someone to the point that you may very well ask for over time. This, I think, is the most important thing; as your energy IS going to be present in all the phone calls - and, to some degree, emails - you do.
So, that natural enthusiasm is super important. But, optimism only takes you so far; you need commitment to performing excellent service. As our target market is real estate, you're - apart from the basic stuff, like emails, phone calls and planning - going to do things specific to the real estate market; like check-up on market activity and such. To be honest, I don't think you're going t have to learn a lot - rather, your objective will be to just send things here and there and provide things to the agent - but you need to be ready to learn and get invested and passionate in that, as well.
Last, but definitely not least, your english needs to be really good. I don't think filipino-accent is a problem - is probably only seen as exotic/charming to most people - but you're going to have to be pretty fluent. If you're super good in the other areas, and your english is a little lacking/rusty, you'd be put on this shortlist if you're just willing to polish up on your skills (whether that's done by talking to some friend on skype, download some english-teaching app or any of the countless other things available you can definitely find a way). Feel free to send a sample of you saying "I'm commit to doing this".
Write "I have read it", the first thing you do in your bid, so I know you've read these - very important - distinctions. If not, I'm not giving you 1 second of my time.
Hope I didn't sound too rough here; have had some negative experiences with freelancers in the past. Happy bidding and ask anything that might come up :).
