If it is not what you want, you have lost a day and no money. That is a better test than a showreel anyway. A portfolio shows you the pieces where everything went right — good light, good product, plenty of coverage. Your shop footage is what it is on the day, and how someone handles that is the only thing worth knowing. On the work: for shop Reels the first second decides everything, so I cut for the hook before I cut for the story. Pacing tied to the track rather than to the clip lengths. Text on screen sized to be read on a phone at arm's length, in the two or three words people actually read. Music chosen from what is trending and licensed in Instagram's own library, so nothing gets muted after posting. At around ten videos a month, consistency is the real deliverable. I would set up a locked look — same font, same text placement, same cut rhythm, same lower-third treatment — so the feed reads as one shop rather than ten separate experiments.
