Hello! My name is Rishi Sharma and I run a non-profit called Remember WWII ([login to view URL]) For the last five years I have been traveling across 45 states, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand on a mission to film interview all the WWII Veterans of the Allied Countries. To date, I have interviewed just over 1,100 WWII veterans on camera and we now have a team of oral historians across the world. The veterans are all given copies of the interviews and we also put some of them on our popular YouTube Channel where on average a couple million people watch and are inspired by these incredible stories ([login to view URL]) . The interviews are also shared with schools and universities so that the students can learn about the reality of war from those who survived it.
We have a lot of interviews that need to be edited for the channel. I have a lot of raw footage that I will send the editor. The editor will need to go through the footage and find the “most interesting” stories that would fit in 15-25 minute Video. The editor will need to add archival footage, music, and pictures to make the people watching the interview interested in watching more. It would be good to have an editor who is interested in history and WWII so they understand the things the veterans say.
Here are some examples of the interviews that we conduct ( these interviews are lightly edited and have done well, imagine how popular they will be when they are properly edited).
