Profile We are looking for a strong independent Product/UI Designer focused on consumer mobile products, ideally with around 3–5 years of experience. Seniority is secondary to portfolio quality: the right person should have excellent visual taste, strong mobile product instincts, and evidence that they can turn complex product logic into a simple, polished experience. This should not be a broad “UI/UX + graphic designer” generalist. The ideal profile is a product designer with unusually strong visual craft, plus enough brand capability to establish a lightweight T0 identity and create a simple logo/wordmark/app icon. Experience preferences: 3–5 years is acceptable if the portfolio is exceptional. Consumer mobile work is strongly preferred over SaaS/dashboard-heavy portfolios. Fitness, wellness, lifestyle, fintech, travel or subscription-app experience is a bonus, not a requirement. Shipped product work matters more than conceptual Dribbble-style screens. Skills to prioritise 1. Visual/UI craft — highest priority. Strong typography, spacing, hierarchy, colour, layout and overall visual taste. 2. Consumer mobile product design. Ability to design native-feeling mobile experiences and make flows feel simple. 3. UX and interaction thinking. They should challenge weak flows, reduce cognitive load and improve the experience rather than simply make wireframes prettier. 4. Design systems. Strong Figma components, variants, variables/tokens, reusable patterns and component states. 5. Figma execution and handoff. Files must be clean, structured and practical for engineering implementation. 6. Lightweight brand capability. Comfortable establishing colours, typography, visual language, logo/wordmark and app icon. 7. Startup collaboration. Comfortable working directly with founders and engineers, moving quickly and designing without a large product/design team around them. 8. Illustration/drawing ability is a bonus, not a hiring requirement. Scope of work The objective is not to design every possible T0 screen. It is to establish an excellent visual direction, design the critical beta journeys, and create a reusable design system that Darcy can extend during implementation. Core deliverables: Visual direction • 2–3 visual directions explored across a small set of representative T0 screens. • One final agreed product direction. Core product UX/UI • Onboarding flow. • Today/home experience. • Weekly training plan/calendar. • Workout detail and workout states. • Completed/missed/moved workout states. • Adaptation/rescheduling experience. • Key supporting beta screens such as race/event, profile/settings, integrations and essential loading/empty/error states where required. Design system • Clean, editable Figma source files. • Colour, typography, spacing, radius, elevation and layout foundations. • Semantic Figma variables/tokens rather than disconnected hard-coded values. • Reusable components with meaningful variants and states. • Core T0-specific components such as workout cards, activity tags, navigation, inputs, buttons, sheets/modals, alerts and calendar/training components. Lightweight brand identity • Primary logo/wordmark. • Simplified logo mark/app icon. • Colour palette. • Typography system. • Basic visual/graphic language. • Simple usage guidance inside Figma. Engineering handoff • 1–2 working sessions with Darcy covering components, behaviours, edge cases and implementation questions. • Optional small ongoing allocation during implementation for unresolved UI decisions. What we will NOT pay the designer to produce unless included cheaply: • Long-form brand strategy decks. • Large brand-guideline PDFs. • Exhaustive developer specification documents. • Manually maintained Markdown design documentation. • Social/email asset libraries before the product system is established. AI / Markdown requirement Figma should be the design source of truth. The designer should structure variables, components and naming cleanly enough that T0 can translate the system into machine-readable Markdown documentation afterward. We can produce files such as [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] ourselves using AI. The designer does not need to manually maintain duplicate .md documentation. We’ll work in quick cycles: daily Slack check-ins, twice-weekly review calls, and annotated feedback directly in Figma. If this sounds like the kind of sprint you enjoy—high ownership, clear scope, plenty of creative freedom—let’s talk.

Hi — Elias here from Miami. I see you’re working on a triathlon training app UI design. The goal here is to create an engaging user experience that encourages users to stay committed to their training. What usually matters most here is how intuitive the interface feels, especially for users who may not be tech-savvy. A common issue in apps like this is ensuring that the design accommodates various user roles and their specific needs. The tricky part is usually maintaining a balance between functionality and simplicity, especially as you expand features. My approach would involve creating wireframes to visualize user flows and ensure we address key pain points early. I’d focus on usability, employing principles that allow for easy navigation while allowing for future enhancements. Having designed mobile applications with similar user engagement goals, I understand the importance of user feedback in the iterative process. A few questions to better understand the scope: Q1 – What specific user roles do you envision for the app? Q2 – Are there any particular integrations you foresee needing for this application? Q3 – How do you plan to handle user feedback during the design process? Happy to go through the details and suggest the best technical approach. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Howdy, The real challenge here is making a complex training product feel simple, intuitive, and motivating on a small screen. The goal isn’t just to make the beta screens look polished, but to create a visual system that makes training flows, workout states, adaptation, and rescheduling feel natural for the user. I can work directly in Figma to develop the visual direction, core beta journeys, reusable components, variables/tokens, states, and a lightweight brand identity, with a practical engineering handoff rather than unnecessary documentation. I’m also comfortable working closely with founders and engineers through Figma feedback and implementation discussions. I can show you relevant mobile product and UI examples in chat so you can judge the visual quality and execution directly. From there, we can discuss the sprint structure and prioritize the most critical user journeys first. Portfolio link: https://www.freelancer.pk/u/Hammadhassan21 Best regards, Hammad Hassan

Hi, I’d be interested in helping establish the T0 visual direction, mobile UX and reusable Figma design system. I understand you’re looking for a strong product designer rather than a general graphic/UI designer. A few questions: Do you already have the product flows/wireframes, or should I help refine the UX as well? Do you have any existing brand elements that need to be retained? Which beta journey is the highest priority—onboarding, Today, or training/workout? I can focus on consumer mobile UX, visual craft, typography, spacing, interaction states and Figma systems, while keeping everything practical for engineering handoff. I’ll deliver: 2–3 visual directions → final direction Core beta journeys and edge states Structured Figma variables/tokens Reusable components and variants Logo/wordmark + app icon Colour, typography and visual language Engineering handoff sessions I’m comfortable working directly with founders and developers through Figma + Slack, iterating quickly based on feedback. I’ll also keep Figma structured so your team can later generate the Markdown design documentation using AI as requested. Availability: Immediate Engagement: Short-term sprint + optional implementation support Tools: Figma, Figma Variables, Components/Variants Best Regards, Dinesh L

Hi, I work in Figma daily, building clean component systems with variables, variants and states that translate straight into engineering. On a recent job I took a full Figma project into hand-written HTML, JS and CSS without third-party libraries, and the client said the execution was perfect. One thing worth deciding early: the adaptation and rescheduling experience is where a training app either feels simple or overwhelming. I'd want to align on how a moved workout ripples through the week before locking the visual direction, since that shapes the workout card and calendar components. You can see clean Figma to product work here. Wuoz: pixel-perfect Figma to SPA build What frame rate of Slack cadence works best for you during the direction sprint? Adil

Hi, The main challenge is making T0 feel polished without adding complexity the onboarding training plan workout states, and rescheduling flows need to feel natural on mobile while the visual system must be strong enough for Darcy to extend during implementation I can shape the product direction in Figma, explore focused visual options, then build the core beta journeys around reusable components, variables, tokens, and meaningful states. I will also cover the lightweight brand system, app icon, edge states, and practical engineering handoff. I work well in fast founder and developer feedback cycles, with Figma kept as the single source of truth. A smart approach would be designing the core workout and navigation patterns first, then using those patterns consistently across the remaining flows to keep the product cohesive. Which existing T0 screens or user flows are already defined if any?? PS: You’ll get competitive rates with the quality you deserve. After discussing your requirements ican suggest the best scalable approach and provide an estimated timeline and cost. Hello, I’m interested in designing T0 with a strong focus on visual quality, consumer mobile UX, and a practical system that your engineering team can extend. I understand this is not simply about producing attractive screens—the goal is to make complex training logic feel simple, intuitive, and polished while establishing a strong visual identity. My approach: • Explore 2–3 distinct visual directions across representative T0 screens • Finalize one refined product direction based on feedback • Design onboarding, Today/Home, training calendar, workout details, workout states, adaptation/rescheduling and key beta flows • Design meaningful loading, empty, error and edge states—not just the happy path • Build a scalable Figma design system using variables/tokens, components, variants and reusable states • Establish a lightweight brand system including wordmark, app icon, colours, typography and visual language • Keep Figma files clean, structured and engineering-ready • Collaborate directly with founders/engineers through quick feedback cycles and handoff sessions I work comfortably with Figma, components, variables, auto-layout and design-system thinking, while balancing UX decisions with strong visual/UI craft. I’d be happy to share relevant mobile product/design work and discuss the beta scope, priorities and timeline. Best regards, Mohit

Hi, The difficult part of T0 is not producing attractive workout screens; it is making training-plan changes, missed sessions and rescheduling feel simple without hiding important context from the athlete. I would begin with 2–3 tightly focused visual directions across Today, weekly plan and workout detail, then turn the selected direction into a reusable Figma system with semantic variables, component states and clean implementation-ready structure. My product work combines mobile UI thinking with an engineering perspective, so I pay particular attention to states, reusable patterns, edge cases and designs that can actually be implemented consistently. I would keep the brand layer lightweight as requested: typography, colour, wordmark/app icon and a coherent graphic language inside the same Figma source of truth. Rate: A$50/hour. Initial engagement: 40 hours over 10 working days. I can start immediately after award.
