I have approximately a little over 30 minutes worth of video that needs to be transcribed. I need you to transcribe the video into a written script. This is going to be a video conferencing with a little over 10 people. To be considered as an applicant, you MUST transcribe the sample audio to be considered for the job.
Here are the instructions and requirements for this project:
1. Broadband connection required.
This video will be uploaded on a password protected website for you to download. So you’ll need a broadband internet connection to download the video.
2. Start Time and Deadline
I will ask you to do this as soon as I decide to hire you but I will need it back within 36 hours. Depending on the quality of your work, I may ask you to do more on a weekly basis.
3. Price/Time Limit
For this project I am willing to pay $10- $20 (per hour worth of transcription, including [url removed, login to view] fees). If it goes over 30 minutes, I will pay you additional according to our agreed rate for every 5 minutes. The hours you will be charging is NOT the hours you actually worked on completing the transcription but you will be charging the video minutes asked to do.
4. Required quality
You may leave out the "um-hums" or trivial comments (but please don’t leave out any clarification questions/comments no matter how trivial it is since I view them important)
There are lots of rambling and some comments may not make sense but I want you to try your best to write it down.
You will create this using MS Word and will indent it just like a movie script so I can easily see it (I’ll send you the format before you start). Also, I need you to put in a time stamp for every 5 minutes.
Since I need to see if you're capable of picking up a Japanese accent, I have attached a sample one minute audio file (the actual one will be done looking at a video) to check whether you can handle Japanese accented English.
You MUST transcribe the sample audio to be considered for the job. This will let me see whether you are capable of doing the job and compare with other bidders. As for the sample voice script, please don’t worry about defining who is speaking. Please just do the best you can and transcribe the file as you hear it in a free format.
Please provide an exact dollar amount and the amount of time you will need for this project in your bid.
