A detailed description of the project will be showed to potential candidates
Why this project is not as easy as it may look like.
There are many encyclopedia-like terms, rare names to be translated that are related to Birds, Cartoons, Tales, Dinosaurs, Mammals, Bible characters etc. Some of them are so specific and rare that a translator may even not know how exactly they sound in his/her language. Mind that we need a translation of the words perfectly adapted to the language you are translating to. For instance, if there is some creature « red X» in English, in another language it may be (or may not) like «lololoka», without mentioning that it is red. So, yes, if you are not sure about the translation of some animal or a character, you check if your version exists on-line (wiki for instance). It should not be translated directly without verification.
I am aware that, for instance, for some Bible or cartoon characters there will be no official equivalent in Chinese language, but I will be insisting on the correct translation of those characters that are known and used literally in China.
The perfect candidate:
1) I would say that this project is for perfectly bilingual people, deeply knowing nuances of both languages. ( English and Traditional Chinese).
2) You have time and not in a hurry. I had to cease working with the previous translator because of inattentiveness as she seemed to be lack of time.
3) You like revision and correction. It is optional but if you want a bonus payment, you may try to check shortly all the previous translation. If you report me how many mistakes you will find and fix, I will for sure remunerate for this type of work.
Deadline: May, 23
