# QA Engineer / Product Tester Needed for Interior Design & Cabinet Software (2D + 3D + Rendering) We are developing an **interior design and cabinet planning software** that allows users to create a measured room in **2D**, automatically/semantically work with the room in **3D**, place furniture/cabinets/models, create interior designs, generate renders for customer approval, calculate pricing/costs, and eventually generate **engineering/manufacturing outputs**. We are looking for an experienced **QA Engineer / Software Tester** who can deeply test the application from both a **functional and real-world interior-design workflow perspective**. This is not a simple website testing project. We need someone who can think like both a **QA engineer and an end user/designer**. ## What the software will cover The product is expected to support workflows such as: * Create and edit rooms in 2D * Draw walls and define room dimensions * Add doors, windows and openings * Modify wall geometry * Add cabinets and furniture * Create cabinet runs * Handle fillers, corners and spacing * Convert/view the design in 3D * Place 3D models and interior elements * Apply materials, finishes and textures * Design kitchens, wardrobes and other interiors * Add lighting * Generate realistic renders * Prepare designs for customer approval * Calculate project/cabinet/material costs * Generate quotations/proposals * Generate engineering/manufacturing information * Export project information and drawings The product is still under active development, so the QA engineer will also help us identify **missing workflows, edge cases and usability problems**. ## What we need you to test ### 1. 2D Room/CAD Functionality Test things such as: * Room creation * Wall creation/editing * Wall split/join * Wall dimensions * Snapping * Grid behaviour * Doors and windows * Openings * Wall intersections * Irregular/complex rooms * Undo/redo * Copy/paste * Object movement and resizing * Units and measurements * Precision issues * Boundary conditions * Very small/large rooms We want to find cases where the geometry becomes invalid or the application behaves unexpectedly. ### 2. 2D → 3D Consistency This is a critical part of the project. For example: **If a user changes a wall in 2D, does the 3D model correctly update?** Test: * Wall dimensions * Room height * Openings * Door/window positions * Cabinet positions * Furniture positions * Materials * Ceiling/floor * Design changes * Object deletion * Object duplication We need to identify any mismatch between the 2D representation and the 3D representation. ### 3. Cabinet & Interior Design Test realistic design workflows such as: * Base cabinets * Wall cabinets * Tall units * Corner cabinets * Fillers * Panels * Countertops * Wardrobes * Shelving * Furniture * Appliances * Multiple cabinet runs * Different cabinet dimensions * Cabinet collisions * Invalid configurations * Snapping/alignment Please test both normal and intentionally incorrect configurations. ### 4. 3D Models Test: * Model placement * Rotation * Scaling * Alignment * Snapping * Collision/intersection * Materials * Textures * Model visibility * Large numbers of models * Performance with complex scenes ### 5. Rendering Test the rendering workflow including: * Camera positioning * Lighting * Materials * Shadows * Reflections * Interior lighting * Different room configurations * Render quality * Render failures * Large/complex projects * Rendering performance * Exported render quality ### 6. Pricing / Cost Calculation Pricing is a critical business workflow. Test: * Cabinet pricing * Material pricing * Hardware * Panels * Accessories * Labour * Installation * Quantity calculations * Discounts * Taxes * Different price configurations * Changes to dimensions affecting price * Changes to materials affecting price * Changes to quantity affecting price Most importantly, verify that: **Design → Quantity → Cost → Quote** remains consistent. ### 7. Engineering / Manufacturing Output As the product evolves, test engineering outputs such as: * Dimensions * Cabinet/component quantities * Cut dimensions * Panels * Hardware * Material information * Drawings * BOM * Manufacturing information * Exported files The QA engineer should specifically look for discrepancies between the **visual design and engineering data**. ### 8. End-to-End Workflow Testing We want real-world scenarios tested from beginning to end. Example: **New Project → Measure Room → Create 2D Room → Add Doors/Windows → Add Cabinets → Generate 3D → Apply Materials → Add Lighting → Render → Customer Approval → Pricing → Engineering Output** The QA engineer should verify that information remains consistent throughout the entire workflow. ## Types of Testing Required We expect a combination of: * Functional testing * Regression testing * Exploratory testing * Integration testing * End-to-end testing * UI/UX testing * Cross-browser testing * Performance testing * Edge-case testing * Data consistency testing * 2D/3D synchronization testing * Calculation validation * Export/import testing Automation experience is a strong advantage. ## Bug Reporting Every bug should contain: * Clear title * Severity * Priority * Steps to reproduce * Expected result * Actual result * Screenshots/video where useful * Browser/OS * Project/design used to reproduce it We prefer **high-quality reproducible bug reports**, not simply a list of observations. ## Ideal Candidate You should have experience with: * Web application QA * Complex SaaS/product testing * Manual testing * Regression testing * End-to-end testing * Browser testing * Bug tracking Strongly preferred: * CAD software testing * Interior design software * 2D/3D applications * Architecture/design software * Cabinet design software * Manufacturing/engineering software * 3D visualization/rendering applications Experience with tools such as **Cabinet Vision, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Planner 5D, Floorplanner, Homestyler, 2020 Design, or similar software** would be a major advantage. ## Important We are looking for someone who can **think beyond predefined test cases**. For example, don't just test: > Create a wall → add a cabinet → save. Also test: > Create an irregular room → split a wall → add an opening → resize the opening → add a corner cabinet → change cabinet dimensions → switch to 3D → move the cabinet → change material → render → modify the original wall → verify the 3D model, pricing and engineering data. We want someone who actively tries to **break the product and discover problems before customers do**. ## Initial Engagement We would like to start with a **paid QA evaluation / initial testing phase**. Based on performance, this can become an ongoing QA engagement as the product continues to develop. Please include in your proposal: 1. Your QA experience 2. Experience testing complex web applications 3. Any experience with CAD / 2D / 3D / interior design software 4. Examples of similar projects you have tested 5. Whether you do manual testing, automation, or both 6. Your preferred bug-reporting tools 7. Your hourly rate 8. Your availability per week Please also provide **one example of a difficult bug you discovered in a previous project and how you identified it**. We are particularly interested in QA engineers who are comfortable testing **complex geometry, 2D/3D synchronization, calculations, rendering workflows and end-to-end business processes**.

Hi, I’m an experienced QA Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience testing complex web applications and SaaS products. I combine manual functional, exploratory, regression, API/database, and automation testing using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, and SQL. For your interior-design platform, I’d focus on realistic end-to-end workflows and data consistency, especially 2D → 3D → materials → pricing → quotation → engineering output. I’d deliberately test irregular geometry, precision/rounding, snapping, wall modifications, object collisions, duplicate/delete/undo scenarios, boundary conditions, complex cabinet configurations, rendering failures, and changes that could create mismatches between visual and underlying data. One difficult defect I found previously involved the UI showing a successful update while the underlying API/data still contained the previous value. I isolated it by comparing the UI with network/API responses and database records, then provided exact reproduction steps and evidence for the developers. I don’t have direct Cabinet Vision/AutoCAD experience, so I won’t claim specialized CAD expertise, but I’m comfortable learning complex product workflows quickly and testing them from both functional and data-consistency perspectives. Manual + Automation | $8/hour | 20–25 hrs/week Regards

For your product, I will need to validate data consistency across the entire pipeline—not just UI testing, but spanning 2D geometry, 3D synchronization, cabinets, rendering, pricing, and engineering outputs. I will approach QA by incorporating real-world designer workflows and intentional edge-case testing. Approach: I will start with 2D walls, snapping, dimensions, openings, irregular room layouts, and undo/redo functionality, followed by cross-platform and cross-browser regression testing. I will then verify 2D-to-3D synchronization, cabinet collisions, materials, rendering, pricing calculations, and BOM/engineering outputs through end-to-end (E2E) scenarios. I will expand regression coverage using automation tools like Playwright or Cypress where appropriate. For every defect reported, I will provide details on severity, priority, reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, and supporting screenshots or videos. 1. What are the current build/test environments and supported browsers/OS? 2. Are staging environments, TestFlight access, test accounts, and sample projects available? 3. Is there an existing tool for bug tracking, such as Jira, Linear, or GitHub? 4. What is the expected scope or number of hours for the initial paid QA phase?

Hi, I’m interested in the initial paid QA evaluation. I understand this is much more than checking whether individual buttons work—the important part is verifying that information remains consistent as a project moves through 2D design, 3D visualization, pricing and later outputs. My strength is exploratory and end-to-end QA of complex web applications. I’ll deliberately test beyond the happy path, including unusual dimensions, repeated edits, object movement/deletion, invalid combinations, save/reload behaviour and changes made after earlier data has already been generated. I’ll pay particular attention to data consistency: if something changes in the 2D design, I’ll verify the corresponding 3D representation, calculations and downstream results rather than testing each module in isolation. Bugs will be reported with exact reproduction steps, severity/priority, environment, project state and screenshots/video so the development team can reproduce them quickly. I primarily do manual exploratory/regression testing; automation can be added where the product and workflow justify it. ₹500/hour | Available 30+ hrs/week | Ready for the paid evaluation.

Hi, I’ve spent 4 years testing complex web applications, and one thing I’ve learned is that a screen can look fine while something behind it is wrong. I’d pay close attention to whether changes in a room design carry through to the 3D view, pricing and exported data. In my previous project, I found 500+ defects by testing beyond written test cases and probing edge cases. One example from my actual work: [briefly describe a real bug you found, how you reproduced it, and what impact it had]. For your evaluation, I’d test realistic workflows: edit an irregular room, change walls and openings, place or resize cabinets, save and reopen the design, then check the 3D view and any affected pricing or outputs. I’d also try unusual inputs and combinations that could expose problems. I use Jira to track bugs, with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, and screenshots or recordings. I also have Selenium, playwright experience for repeatable regression checks. I haven’t worked directly with specialist cabinet/CAD software, so I won’t overstate that. I can bring my QA experience and learn how your product is expected to behave. Rate: ₹400/hour Availability: 20-25 hours/week I’m happy to start with the paid evaluation.

Hello, Testing a 2D/3D design tool is less about clicking through screens and more about hunting the places where data silently drifts, where a wall edited in 2D doesn't match the 3D model, or where a dimension change doesn't flow through to pricing and the BOM. That consistency chain is exactly where I'd focus. QA coverage: functional, regression, exploratory, integration, and end-to-end testing across your full workflow, from 2D room creation through 3D, rendering, pricing, and engineering output 2D/3D sync: systematic checks that every 2D change (walls, openings, cabinet positions, materials) propagates correctly to the 3D model, the critical risk area you flagged Calculation validation: verifying Design → Quantity → Cost → Quote stays consistent, and that dimension, material, and quantity changes all flow through accurately Edge cases: irregular rooms, cabinet collisions, boundary dimensions, and invalid configurations, actively trying to break the geometry Automation: Selenium for regression coverage on stable workflows, cutting repeat manual effort as the product grows A difficult bug I once caught: intermittent data drift where a record looked correct in the UI but the underlying value diverged under concurrent updates. I found it by scripting repeated simultaneous actions and diffing the displayed value against the stored one, which surfaced a race condition manual testing had missed.

Hi, I have 10+ years of software development experience and can approach this as both a QA engineer and a real end user. I’m comfortable testing complex workflows where geometry, calculations, UI state and backend data must remain consistent. For your platform, I’d cover: • 2D geometry, snapping, dimensions, intersections and edge cases • 2D → 3D synchronization • Cabinets, fillers, corners, collisions and invalid configurations • Models, materials, lighting and rendering • Design → quantity → pricing → quotation consistency • Engineering/BOM/export validation • End-to-end and regression testing • Browser, responsive and performance testing I’ll actively try to break the product rather than only follow happy-path cases. For example: modify an irregular room after cabinets are placed, change dimensions/materials, switch between 2D/3D, render, then verify pricing and engineering data remain synchronized. Every bug will include severity/priority, reproducible steps, expected vs. actual result, environment and screenshots/video where useful. I’m experienced with manual exploratory, integration, regression and E2E testing, and my development background helps me isolate technical root causes and provide actionable reports. I’m available for the paid evaluation and potential ongoing QA engagement. Best, Filip

Hello Hiring Manager! I'm a Senior QA Engineer with 10+ years of experience in Manual, Automation, API, Regression, and End-to-End testing. Your project caught my attention because this is much more than basic website testing. The combination of 2D room planning, 3D synchronization, cabinet configuration, rendering, pricing, quotations, and engineering outputs requires strong functional and exploratory QA with a focus on data consistency. Example of a Difficult Bug: In a previous application, I discovered a business-logic issue in a fixed-price bidding workflow. After a guide accepted a fixed bid amount, the explorer was still able to reduce the agreed amount without requiring the guide's approval. I found the issue by testing different user states and actions after the acceptance step rather than stopping at the happy-path scenario. Manual + Automation: I can handle both manual and automation testing using tools such as: Playwright Selenium Bug Reporting Every confirmed issue will include: Clear title Severity/Priority Environment Project/design configuration Exact reproduction steps Expected vs. actual result Screenshots/video where useful My goal is to provide high-quality, developer-friendly bug reports, not simply a list of observations. I would be happy to begin with your paid QA evaluation and demonstrate my testing approach on the actual product. Best regards, Vinod

The bug that will hurt you most is the quiet one: a wall changed in 2D, the 3D view looks fine, but the cabinet run, opening position or cost estimate is now based on the old geometry. That's where I'd focus first. How I'd test it: - 2D geometry edge cases: wall split/join, intersections, irregular rooms, very small/large rooms, unit switching, precision after repeated undo/redo - 2D → 3D consistency checks: change one thing in 2D, verify walls, openings, cabinets, materials and height in 3D, then check whether pricing updated too - Cabinet logic: fillers, corners, spacing, runs that hit a door or window - Real-world workflow runs: design a full kitchen start to finish as a designer would, and note where the flow breaks or feels slow - Missing workflows and usability gaps listed separately from bugs Every bug is reported with steps to reproduce, expected vs actual result, severity, and a screenshot or short screen recording, in Jira, a sheet or whatever you use. I'm a manual QA tester (Windows 11, Chrome), comfortable with test cases and exploratory testing. I'm keeping my rate low because I'm building reviews on this platform. Which build should I start with, and is there one module you're least confident about? I'd test that one first and send you a short report within 48 hours.

Hello - testing a 2D and 3D planning tool fits my scope well. Because geometry changes often in interior software, the areas I would probe first are measurement rounding, wall snapping, and cabinet displacement when someone edits a wall after placing cabinets. My approach is to take one primary workflow end to end and return a findings log with reproduction steps, screenshots and severity ratings. Which workflow is your priority right now: drawing or modifying the 2D room, cabinet placement and spacing, or the 3D render output? My rate is INR 600 per hour, capped at 12 hours in total (INR 7,200 maximum) so the cost is bounded. -- Christopher

Hello, 1. I'm QA engineer with 2 years of manual QA in commercial projects 2. I tested multi-step web flows end to end - from data input to calculation, document generation and payment/ 3. No commercial experience with CAD / 2D / 3D / interior design software yet, but the core of your product (Design → Quantity → Cost → Quote consistency) is very close to the calculation and data-consistency testing I did. 4. Similar projects: insurance policy purchase funnel with tariff and discount calculation, benefit calculation for different applicant categories. 5. Manual testing 6. Using Jira, Confluence, TestIT for bug-reports 7. Hourly rate: 10 USD 8. Availability: 40 hours per week Bug example Before a release I found a critical error in insurance tariff calculation. I checked results for different combinations of input parameters against business requirements and found a combination where the calculated price was wrong. I documented the bug with exact input data, expected and actual results, so developers could fix it before release. This helped reduce post-release hotfixes by 25%. I'd be glad to take part in your project Best regards, Vladislav Mamchenko Telegram: @polon_lubvi
