I need a compact, carrier-grade RF-over-Fiber module engineered specifically for telecommunications links. The goal is to move an RF signal from a remote antenna site to my baseband equipment with the lowest possible noise, excellent linearity, and rock-solid gain flatness across the target band we will finalise together during kickoff. Scope of work • Translate my high-level link budget into a full electrical-optical-electrical design, covering the laser driver, optical modulator, photodiode front-end, biasing, RF amplification, and control electronics. • Produce complete schematics, PCB stack-ups, Gerber files, and a BOM with ordering part numbers that are actually in stock. • Simulate performance (ADS, Keysight PathWave, or similar) and document noise figure, IP3, and gain plots to prove the design meets telecom-grade requirements. • Guide first-article manufacturing and provide tuning instructions so the unit is ready for lab validation. Acceptance criteria 1. End-to-end link gain and flatness within the limits we agree. 2. Noise figure and linearity demonstrated by screenshots or lab data. 3. Deliverables: native design files, Gerbers, BOM, simulation reports, and a brief test plan. If you combine RF design expertise with practical fiber-optic experience, I’m ready to start immediately and move quickly toward a prototype.

Hi, I am an embedded systems engineer with over 16 years of experience in RF, mixed-signal electronics, high-speed PCB design, optical interfaces, control firmware, and taking consumer and industrial products from concept through prototype and production. I can translate your link budget into a practical RF-over-Fiber architecture covering the laser/modulator path, photodiode front end, low-noise amplification, biasing, power, monitoring, and control electronics. I will develop the schematics and controlled-impedance PCB, validate gain, flatness, noise figure, and IP3 through RF/link simulation, and deliver native design files, manufacturing outputs, an orderable BOM, simulation results, and a concise bring-up and tuning plan. I can also support first-article fabrication, lab debugging, firmware, and production-readiness reviews. Before finalising the architecture, I would like to confirm the RF band and bandwidth, required link length and optical wavelength, gain/NF/IP3 targets, supply constraints, connector formats, and environmental requirements. Is direct optical modulation acceptable, or do you expect an external modulator architecture? The schedule assumes one design and review cycle followed by manufacturing support; component and fabrication lead times are separate. Please contact me to discuss details.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hi, I’ve reviewed your RF-over-Fiber requirements and the 20 GHz RFoF reference. I understand that the main challenge is achieving low noise, high linearity and stable gain flatness across the complete E/O/O/E link, not simply designing the PCB. I can work through the design from the link budget to the prototype, including: • RF Tx/Rx architecture and impedance matching • Laser/modulator driver and photodiode/TIA stages • RF gain, filtering and bias/control circuits • High-frequency PCB stack-up and controlled-impedance layout • ADS/PathWave or equivalent RF simulation • NF, IP3/P1dB, gain-flatness and stability analysis • BOM, Gerbers, native design files and test documentation • First-article tuning and validation support I’ll keep component availability and practical manufacturing in mind from the beginning. Before starting, I’d like to confirm the target frequency band, RF input/output levels, required link gain, fiber type/length and mechanical size. These parameters will determine the optimum optical and RF architecture. I can then define the complete Tx/Rx block diagram and proceed systematically toward the prototype.

Hi, I am an RF/electronics engineer with experience in microwave PCB design, low-noise analog chains, RF amplification, impedance-controlled layouts, and high-frequency systems extending into the multi-GHz range. Your reference document targets a 1–20 GHz RF-over-fiber link with high SFDR, low noise, telecom/antenna-remoting use, and optional pre/post amplification, so I would treat NF, compression, flatness, optical power, and PCB parasitics as linked design constraints from the start. 20GHZ RF OVER FIBER MINI Approach: ✅ I will define the RF/optical link budget, gain, NF, linearity, optical power, and amplifier requirements. ✅ I will design the Tx/Rx schematics and controlled-impedance PCB with proper RF grounding, biasing, shielding, and 50 Ω routing. ✅ I will simulate gain flatness, NF, P1dB/IP3, and SFDR, then prepare Gerbers, BOM, and a practical validation plan. Questions: ✅ Do you need the full 1–20 GHz bandwidth or a narrower telecom band? ✅ What are the required gain, flatness, NF, SFDR, and maximum input power? ✅ What optical wavelength, fiber type, and connector standard should be used? My background is in electronic hardware, PCB design, embedded systems, and laser-driver development. I can take responsibility for the control electronics, schematics, PCB, BOM, and prototype bring-up, while treating the RF-over-fiber link performance as a measured design target—not something to promise from a layout alone. I’d begin by translating your link budget into agreed specifications for band, gain/flatness, noise figure, IP3, fiber length, and optical wavelength. Then I’d compare feasible direct- or external-modulation approaches, select parts with suitable models and sourcing options, and document the assumptions behind the simulations. The first article should be checked with calibrated RF and optical measurements before claiming carrier-grade performance. I can provide the native design files, manufacturing package, simulation results, and a practical tuning/test plan. My strongest fit is the electronics and prototype-development work; I won’t overstate a specialist RF-over-fiber track record.

Dear Client, Yes—I’m happy to start with the Telecom RF-over-Fiber module and take ownership from architecture through production-ready files. The key is getting the RF, optical interface, low-noise, linearity, gain flatness and power domains correct together—not just connecting an RF stage to a fiber link. PCB Must Innovations brings 30+ years of electronics/PCB experience across high-frequency RF design, RF-over-Fiber systems,, multilayer stack-ups, power integrity and Altium development. Profile: https://www.freelancer.in/u/electronicsdone The amateur trap is treating every fast interface independently. Haha, the board usually reminds you that return paths, impedance, noise and power integrity all share the same copper. I can handle link-budget planning, RF/optical architecture, laser driver, optical modulator, photodiode front-end, RF amplification, control electronics, controlled-impedance stack-up, RF routing, power filtering, DRC and manufacturing outputs. I’m happy to offer a free consultation first so we can review the link budget and define the RF band, optical requirements, simulation targets and PCB constraints before placement is frozen. One question: is the target RF frequency band, optical wavelength and link distance already defined, or can these be finalized during kickoff? Message me with that answer and I’ll outline the architecture, stack-up, simulation and layout-validation path before you commit. Kind Regards Prat PCB Must Innovations

Your need for a low-noise, high-linearity RF-over-Fiber module for telecom links immediately brings to mind the challenges and solutions we addressed in a recent project involving a similar compact optical transceiver for a wireless backhaul application. We achieved sub-dB insertion loss and >+15 dBm P1dB compression with a carefully selected DFB laser and a linearized Mach-Zehnder modulator, a performance profile I'm confident we can replicate and exceed for your specific requirements. My approach will involve a detailed link budget analysis to precisely define optical power budgets, noise figures, and intermodulation distortion (IMD) requirements. I'll leverage advanced simulation tools like Keysight ADS for RF and optical path design, including linearized laser driver and photodiode front-end simulations. The PCB design will prioritize signal integrity and thermal management using high-frequency laminates and meticulous layout techniques. I will focus on component selection for optimal noise figure and linearity, ensuring robust biasing and gain control circuitry. Given the critical nature of gain flatness, what is your preliminary target bandwidth, and are there any specific regulatory or environmental constraints that might influence component selection? I’m eager to discuss your detailed link budget and explore how we can deliver this carrier-grade module.

Hi, Bojan here, from Serbia. Designing your telecom RF-over-fiber module comes down to one thing: a board that works on the first order and can be built at scale. I'm a senior embedded and electronics engineer with 8+ years of experience working with Electronics, PCB Layout and Electrical Engineering. For your telecom RF-over-fiber module, the real challenge is part availability and manufacturability. A common issue: no DFM check before ordering, so boards come back with assembly or clearance problems. My plan: first, review the schematic, parts and enclosure limits. Then, update the layout with DFM, power paths and grounding in mind. Finally, run DRC and a DFM check, then prepare Gerbers and the BOM. I've done PCB work before, so I check early for parts going out of stock and clearance issues. A few questions to better understand the scope: 1. Does the board need to pass EMC testing? Then grounding and the layer stack are planned for it from the start. 2. Stick to parts your assembler stocks? I'd recommend it, faster assembly and fewer substitutions. 3. Does it need CE or FCC certification? I plan layout and filtering with that test in mind. I can start right away. Happy to go over the details here in chat and suggest the best approach. Looking forward to hearing from you, Bojan
