Hi Master Guru, (cool name btw) My name is Tomas Storheim and I am a ceo/founder of a international consortium of independent individuals/companies in the advertising, media, and creative content industry. We call ourselves Appsring.
Our multi-talented team specializes in mobile application & game development, graphic design, web design, web hosting, e-commerce, online marketing, 3D/2D animation & modeling, corporate video production, industrial design, commercial photography, language translation, multilingual voice - over services and software engineering. Since the 1st of January 2017 some of us have been focusing on The Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE challenge. In fact we think we have a fair chance to win this exciting competition.
As this challenge requires more than just straightforward software development I have involved a personal friend of mine [url removed, login to view] Petrovski to lead our hardware division.
[url removed, login to view] has a PHD in Electronic and Communication engineering and teaches at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Read more about Dr. Petrovski here: [url removed, login to view]
However, [url removed, login to view] is in the middle of a work related overload and since we only have 45 days left to submit our concept he has filed a request for an assistant/partner to ease up some the project related workflow.
In other words he needs someone with similar background who knows all the ropes.
Someone he can talk to and elaborate on the technology we a planning to make.
In short terms, what we are planning to make is a smart wristband accompanied with an application for both the wristband and the mobile phone. The name of our solution is IDAAR, which is also going to be the name of the company that will emerge from this. IDAAR stands for “Intelligent Distress Alert And Rescue”.
Project status at this point is almost at the programming stage where most of the concept and application design is ready, among other things.
It is worth mentioning that there is absolutely no way that we will be able to come up with a prototype before the deadline. However, this is not a requirement for the first stage of the competition. Basically, what we have to do is to come up with a well-documented and feasible solution on the paper. In other words, we just need to elegantly theory craft the technology.
If we manage to qualify Idaar for the next stage, our team will get additional 6 months to make the prototype etc.
Most importantly, everyone involved on Idaar pulls in their own knowledge and resources into the project. This means that everyone currently involved, work purely on “no cure-no pay bases”.
However I if we win, the assistant engineer position will be compensated with 25 000 USD one time payment + the possibility for further engagement with our company and maybe even a small percentage of it. We will see. 25 000 USD will definitely be a good start.
Now what happens if we don’t win? The project will still be developed. We will just need to use other channels to make it happen. By that time we should already have prototype etc.
It is also worth mentioning that the biggest part of our team consist of professionals located in India. This is also where we will be manufacturing our technology.
So if our project sound interesting and you think you will have time for it, please do not hesitate to get back to me as soon as possible. I will than set you up with Dr. Petrovski for an interview.
